Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal data — written in plain English, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
1. Who we are
Veridian Limited ("Veridian", "we", "us") is a digital practice registered in Nigeria (RC 9642444), based in Abuja and serving small and medium businesses nationwide. For any privacy question or request, contact us at:
- Email: hello@veridian.ng
- Phone / WhatsApp: +234 813 098 6851
For the purposes of the NDPA, Veridian Limited is the data controller for the personal data described below.
2. What we collect
We practise data minimisation — we only collect what we need for a clear purpose. Depending on how you interact with us, that may include:
- Contact & enquiry details you give us through our forms or by email: your name, business name, email address, phone number, website, and the content of your message.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
- Audit information: only publicly available information about your business (your website, public listings, search results). Our audits never involve logins, passwords, or anything invasive.
- Campaign & analytics data: if you reach us via a link in one of our emails, we may record which campaign brought you here (for example, a UTM tag) so we can understand what is useful. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics where possible.
3. Why we use it (lawful basis)
We process your personal data on these bases under the NDPA:
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the service you asked about — on the basis of taking steps at your request and our legitimate interest in running our business.
- To send The Quiet Letter (our newsletter) — only with your consent, which you give by subscribing and can withdraw at any time.
- For limited business outreach — where we contact a business using publicly available business contact details, on the basis of our legitimate interest, always with a clear and working opt-out.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see your rights below.
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the practice — for example, our website host (Netlify), our email provider (Zoho), and our analytics provider (Umami — cookieless, no personal identifiers). These providers process data on our instructions only. We may disclose data if required by law.
6. Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to access your data, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@veridian.ng and we will respond within the timeframe the law allows. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
7. Opting out of our emails
Every marketing email we send includes a clear way to unsubscribe. You can also reply to any message, or email hello@veridian.ng, and we will remove you promptly.
8. How we protect your data
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and keeping the data we hold to a minimum — proportionate to the sensitivity and scale of what we process.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practice grows or the law changes. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
